How does it work?
Jupiter Jack fits any smartphone and even the older 2G mobile phones with the universal adaptors it comes bundled with. It connects to the car’s audio system via an inbuilt FM radio transmitter and turns the car radio into a hands-free phone system by simply adding 88.7FM or 99.3FM to one of your pre-sets, and connecting the device. You can easily tweak incoming call volume by adjusting the volume dial on your car stereo.
The device claims to have no plugs, no wires, and no hands (whatever that means). You simply attach Jupiter Jack to the headphone port of your cell phone, hit your programmed FM radio channel pre-set button and switch the device on. There is no actual installation required other than the tuning the radio frequency. Now, in theory, your car radio has turned to a wireless speaker whenever you make or receive phone calls.
Does the device work as advertised?
We found that while many users reported the product worked perfectly as advertised, and delivers clear and reliable voice transmission, there were also a great many who had complaints about Jupiter Jack’s reception.
However, there were also many complaints about the Jupiter Jack that clearly stemmed from a misunderstanding of what the product actually does. Don’t expect this device to improve the quality of your car radio. If your car radio has reception problems or a damaged antenna, Jupiter Jack may produce poor voice reproduction.
